Newauth Web Extension is essentially a tunnel between your Newauth Vault and your browser. By logging into your Vault through the Web Extension, you download the credentials section of your vault into your browser. So that, these could be inserted into the pages on your behalf.

What data do we collect?

  • By default, the extension does not read or collect any data from your web pages. It only writes the credentials from your Newauth vault into the login fields of applicable web pages.

  • When expressly allowed by you, the extension can read the credentials you enter into the web pages and save those in your Newauth Vault. This is so that the credential is available in your vault to be filled in subsequent visits.

  • Other than the above, the Extension does not interact with any other data.

How we store data

In the case where you ask us to store your credentials from your browser, that data is encrypted within your browser and sent for storage to our servers in the encrypted form. All your data is encrypted using AES 256 bit encryption. The encrypted data is transported from your browser to the Newauth Server under another layer of encryption via TLS.

How we share data

  • We do not share your vault data with anyone.

  • You could, however, share your data with any other Newauth user or group. But even in those situations, your data is shared such that it can not be viewed in clear by the other users. Shared credentials can not be copied or pasted. They may only be filled into the web pages automatically by the Newauth Web Extension.

How we use cookies

  • We use cookies for session management. This is so that we can identify registered users and present them with relevant information.

  • We do not use third party cookies or trackers.

Your choices for managing your data

  • You always retain full control over your data.

  • You may update or remove your data any time by logging into your Newauth account via the Newauth website.
